Liberty Hill United Methodist Church (Hartwell, Ga.) records
Liberty Hill, which was known as Liberty Methodist Episcopal Church South of Hartwell, began in the early 1850s on land donated by Hillard J. Mullenix in Hartwell, GA. A log church was built in 1873 and was also used as a school until 1921. In 1893, a wood frame structure was built before it was changed to the present brick structure in 1958. Since 1960, the church has undergone remodeling and renovations with the addition of a fellowship hall, a steeple, and a sound system. Liberty Hill disaffiliated from the United Methodist Church in 2022.
