Summary: A later printing of Luther's translation of the Bible, lavishly illustrated with wood-engravings, some from the earlier printings.

Illustrative and Decorative Content: Includes many elaborate wood-engravings, some with the monogram: H.B. (cf. G.K. Nadler, Die Monogrammisten, v. 3, p. 207-209 on Hans Brosamer). Wood-engraving of Christ on the cross, with Luther to the viewer's right, and the Elector of Saxony (?) to the left. T.p. in red and black. Initials (some decorated or historiated).
Binding: Bound in old bordered, framed, and panelled calf over bevelled wooden boards, tooled in blind, with clasps (lacking).
Additional Details: Added title for Prophets, "Die Propheten alle Deudsch." Printed marginalia. Includes the Apocrypha. Old inscriptions and marginalia. From the library of Jost von Osenbruck (also Jost Hamelman Osnaburg and Iodocus Hamelmanus), with his signature.
