McKee's Chapel United Methodist Church (Dawsonville, Ga.) records
McKee’s Chapel was organized after the Civil War between 1865-1869. The first Church was a little boxed house and there was an Arbor and campground on the property. The second Church building was built during the Pastorate of Rev. W.T. Westbrook and was erected between 1885-1888. The church was named after Joseph McKee, since he donated the largest sum of money towards the church’s construction. Members of the church built another brick Church near the second Church in the Spring of 1948. McKee’s Chapel disaffiliated from the United Methodist Church in 2023.
