Mountville United Methodist Church (LaGrange, Ga.) records
The Mountville United Methodist Church was organized in 1828 by Reverend James Hunter, and the faithful began holding services in a log cabin of Thomas Evans about a mile east of the present church. A permanent worship house was established in 1828 before another church edifice was built in 1870 near the present church site on land donated by Dr. Joseph Bradfield in LaGrange, GA. The present church building was erected in 1908 and has undergone extensive remodeling with the addition of education spaces, a church cemetery, and stained-glass windows. Mountville Church disaffiliated from the United Methodist Church in 2023.
